This is the first brief report from the East Coast OGA 60th Annual Race held on 27 July, 2024. 27 boats assembled at Stone Sailing Club early on Saturday morning for the Race. It was sunny and warm but westerly breeze frustratingly light at the start. With the strong ebb-tide, keeping above the start line was a challenge. The wind filled in during the morning allowing everyone to have a good day’s sailing. There were a few noteworthy events including a tender that didn’t like being left behind, a RIB-lift of a First Responder from one of the fleet and a boat finishing sideways, beam on to line.
The day was rounded off with chat, drinks, prize-giving and fish and chips. Thank you to Stone Sailing Club and their hard-working team afloat and ashore. The first few photos, including some stunning black & white ones from Sandy Miller, with full Race Results are published below. Find a detailed Race Report with more photos here.
