Colne Yacht Club are holding a concert with Tom Lewis which the organisers assure us will make a great end of season outing either by boat or car!
The Shanty Night is a fundraiser for the Fisherman’s Mission and will feature Tom Lewis. Tom may need less of an introduction amongst shanty and sea song devotees but by way of introduction, he is a renowned international singer and song writer of shanties and sea songs, perhaps best known for his song ‘The last Shanty’. Tom is a regular at Shanty and Maritime festivals as well as folk clubs. This year he has toured in Canada, Australia and the USA and now Brightlingsea at the Colne Yacht Club. Tom spent 25 years in the Royal Navy and his performances reflect his nautical knowledge and experience. Expect to be entertained but also to join in a rip roaring evening of nautical song and story whilst supporting our Fishermen and their families.
The bar opens at 7.00pm and the performance starts at 8.00pm on Saturday 26 October, 2024.
